Agnes Su was born in Newport Beach, California, USA. She grew up in San Clemente and Irvine, California. She received her first ballet lessons at the Pacific Coast Academy of Dance in San Clemente before moving to the Southland Ballet Academy. In 2010 she finally came to the John Cranko School in Stuttgart, where she graduated in 2013. During her last year of training at the John Cranko School, she danced in the corps de ballet in several productions of the Stuttgart Ballet.
In the 2013/14 season Agnes Su was a trainee at the Stuttgart Ballet. A season later she was transferred to the corps de ballet. In January 2017 she was promoted to demi-soloist, and at the beginning of the 2019/20 season she was promoted to soloist. In November 2021 she was promoted to principal dancer
